Global Design Project - Colour Challenge

05 October 2015

Colour Challenges. Ugh. Many love them, not this little chicken! I struggle - every.single.time.
I get out every stamp I own and sit and stare, sometimes for hours. I walk away with hope that something comes to me. And thankfully it did!

Here's this weeks colour challenge:

For me, I thought the colours lent themselves to a flower. In Australia we are at the beginning of my favourite season, Spring, and I wanted to use a stamp that I believe has been a little overlooked lately, Blended Bloom.

I stamped it onto Shimmer Paper, which watercolours beautifully with the Aqua Painters, picking up ink from the lid of my Daffodil Delight ink pad and fussy cut it out. I used a sponge to lightly colour the background in soft sky. The sentiment 'Hello Sunshine' signifies the commencement of Spring, to which I am LOVING the warmer weather. Using the Crazy About You stamp set, it has been heat embossed with white embossing power onto black cardstock and carefully trimmed with the Stampin' Trimmer.

I hope you enjoyed my project this week. Make sure you pop over to the Global Design Project to see all the Design Team creations and also why not play along?!

  1. I think you captured Spring perfectly with this delightful, fresh card! I felt you pain when describing how colour challenges make you feel though, lol. Love the off center sentiment - it pops!

  3. Louise,

I love your style and your cards. And it is so gratifying to me to hear that someone so talented as you hates color challenges too because I struggle with them so much. Thanks for making me feel human! I like this card and your take on the color challenge.
