Sketch Challenge - Global Design Project

30 May 2016

Before we get started on this weeks Global Design Project challenge, I'm just letting you know that I am still away on the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip and will be returning tomorrow and will share all the exciting adventures with you shortly - stay tuned! You can also see some of my travels on my Facebook page.

This week, we have an awesome sketch. I love sketch challenges and I'm really happy with how this card....if I do say so myself! I'm not much of a purple person (yes, you know I'm a pink girl) and I am starting to think that I really need to be digging out my Wisteria Wonder a little more!

I made this card for my beautiful friend Nicole, who has 'helped me grow' my Stampin' Up! business over the past four years and has also been an amazing friend. I have now moved two hours away from Nicole and it's been a daily struggle living without her so close. Thanks Nicole for your friendship, love and all the laughs.

I used one of my new stamp sets called Helping Me Grow and stamped it on Watercolor Paper and watercolored with my Stampin' Markers and Aqua Painter.

Now you need to pop over to the Global Design Project and check out the amazing design team and play along with us this week too!

Colour Challenge - Global Design Project

23 May 2016

Hola! Just letting you know that I have scheduled this post and I am (hopefully) at sea on the Mediterranean for the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip, enjoying a cocktail. To stay up-to-date with my travels please follow me on Facebook

This week the Global Design Project has a colour challenge. I always seem to struggle with colour challenges and this week was no different! I am however happy with the result and may even use this colour combo in future.

I thought I would go with a sea theme, with all the current cruising I'm doing - sorry to rub it in! I have used By The Tide and Six-Sided Sampler stamp sets and they both will be soon retiring, so make sure you get it quick if you haven't already.

Now you need to pop over to the Global Design Project and check out the amazing design team and play along with us this week too!

CASEing Paula Dobson - Global Design Project

16 May 2016

This week there's two amazing things happening....well, three, if you count that there is another Global Design Project challenge to be inspired by!

1. A tad excited to be heading to BARCELONA tomorrow. Say what?! Yep, that's right, the time had finally come to head off on my fourth Stampin' Up! incentive trip to the Mediterranean. Excited is definitely an understatement, as I have never travelled to Europe before and this is on my bucket list.

2. After 47 years in the same home in Sydney, my Aunt and Uncle are moving to Kiama on Thursday.  Unfortunately (cough, cough) I won't here to help unpack the truck, however when we return I'm sure there will still be some boxes to unpack and possibly dinners to cook.

And now the third, which is still super exciting - the latest Global Design Project challenge is live and we are CASE-ing the uber talented, sponging extraordinaire, Paula Dobson.

I made this card for my Aunt, to congratulate them on their upcoming move. I used the same stamp set Paula used in her gorgeous landscape style card. I also used softing sponged some green in the background, to stay true to Paula's style. The stamp set is called Wild About Flowers and now I've used it, I love it! I will admit it didn't appeal to me at first, however it's so versatile and the sentiments are lovely.

Now head on over the the Design Team at at the Global Design Project and get your daily dose of inspiration! Why not play along too?

Global Design Project - Project Life

09 May 2016

This week the challenge over at Global Design Project is to create using the Project Life concept.

What is Project Life? Project Life itself is an ingenious, simple and easy memory keeping system created by a brilliant woman called Becky Higgins. A couple of years ago Stampin' Up! and Becky Higgins joined forces to have card collections, stamps, kits, albums, accessories and pocket pages to coordinate with our existing range.

For me, I will admit that I haven't been very successful at Project Life or even memory keeping. I am guilty of taking photos and storing them on my hard drive. So, this is my pledge to you, my loyal followers; I promise to make more of an effort to document my life and share it with you and my favourite way to do this is using Project Life because it's so darn easy!

Have you ever just loved a Designer Series Paper? Or even been in love with a stamp set? Why not use it and create your own Project Life cards? Perfect! I recently returned from my best friend Mehgan's wedding the Birthday Bouquet paper and Birthday Blooms stamp set works perfectly with her theme. So I have started to create my own cards and soon I'll get some photos printed and create some pages of her perfect day.

Here's a photo of Mehgan and I getting ready before the ceremony. It was a magical day and I will blog more about it when I get the professional photos.

Now, time to get more inspiration! If you haven't started your memory keeping journey yet, or even if you have, make sure you go and check out the amazing Design Team over at the Global Design Project.

Global Design Project - Sketch Challenge

03 May 2016

Welcome to another Global Design Project challenge. This week we have an awesome sketch created by Teneale Williams, who certainly has a great knack for creating these amazing sketches!

I squeezed the lid of Pumpkin Pie ink pad and used the ink from the lid to paint with an Aqua Painter into Shimmery White cardstock. I find the Shimmery White really nice to use when watercolouring. I then set this aside to dry - joking - who has time for that, I used my heat tool!

The sentiment is from one of the current Hostess stamp sets called A Whole Lot of Lovely, on page 179 of the Annual Catalogue.

You now NEED to get yourself over the Global Design Project and see all the amazing - and I mean jaw dropping - creations from the Design Team.
