Global Design Project - Case the Designer

28 September 2015

This week over at the Global Design Project there is a 'CASE the Designer' challenge and it just so happens that everyone is CASE-ing little ole' me!

What does CASE stand for? It actually stands for Copy Everything and Share. However in this instance it means 'to be inspired by' the designer. We can be inspired by anything including the layout, the colours, the theme or even the elements such as ribbons, papers and embellishments.

This is a project I created last year using the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and it still remains one of my favourites.

I kept with the natural colour scheme with a touch of gold and clean layers.

Faux Chipboard. I wanted the Delicate Ornament to be thick like a chipboard embellishment. The Thinlits Dies wouldn't allow me to cut thick chipboard, so I cut out 4 individually and glued them together with the new Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Voila!

Thanks for stopping by, make sure you head over to see the amazing Global Design Team and how they have been inspired by this weeks challenge.

Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop

24 September 2015

Hello and welcome to our Grand Vacation Blog Hop for September. The blog hop was created to celebrate those who had earned a Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation this year, to showcase our creations and share our love of Stampin' Up!

The theme for this blog hop is 'Remember to Give Thanks'

We don't celebrate Thanks Giving in Australia, however we do very much celebrate the gift of giving. My project for today has been made for a very special friend, team member and cousin, Marlene aka Marls! Marls has always supported me and sent me the most delightful card of love, stating she was so proud of me for earning the Mediterranean Grand Vacation. Thank you my beautiful friend.

I thought I would make a cute little framed keepsake she could display in her craftroom and also a reminder for Marls to remember how much she truly is a blessing in my life.

Quick, simple and beautiful = Watercolor Wishes Kit!
I used elements from the Watercolor Wishes Kit and I really like how clean and lovely it all came together. The kit is so beautiful, however I like changing things up a bit and it's so easy with the Stampin' Up! kits....and I will admit this one is my favourite!

Have you ever looked through the catalogue and passed over something over and over? That was me with the the new gold washi tape from the Holiday Catalogue, Winter Wonderland Washi, on page 23. I generally don't use a lot of washi on my projects...but watch out, I think I'm starting to like it!

I made a coordinating thank you note card and wanted a see through envelope....like a little teaser of what's inside! I made the envelope from vellum using the Envelope Punch Board.

Tip: The note card size is 8cm square (8cm x 16cm, folded in half), to make the envelope to fit you will need to cut the vellum at 14cm x 14cm and score at 7cm on the punch board.

INKspired Blog Hop - Strawberry Jam

20 September 2015

INKspired Blog Hop & Sentimental Sunday

Welcome to our 1st Birthday INKspired Blog Hop. It's hard to belive we have been 'hopping' for 12 months already! You may have just arrived from my friend Lisa.

This week, we not only have a sketch challenge from Teneale, but also to have to theme our projects around Celebration / Birthday / Party.

My gift hamper has been made for a celebration of sorts! My bestfriend Mehgan, from Arizona, has recently moved into a new home and wanted to create a sweet (pardon the pun) house-warming gift.

I love the strawberries from the Market Fresh stamp set and knew I wanted to create something special for Mehgan's new home. I know she's going to love it!

I just wish I was there celebrating with her with some freshly made pikelets. (To which, Americans have no idea what I am talking about regarding these amazing tasty treats! I know...like what? They are totally missing out in my opinion!)

And yes, I called it Strawberry JAM, not JELLY!

I used Stazon Ink on Shimmer Paper and coloured the strawberries by pushing ink into the lid of Real Red ink pad and picking up the ink with an Aqua Painter, carefully colouring staring from where I want the darkest amount of colour and blending it out.

Next on the hop is my beautiful, amazing, talented, friend, team member and cousin....yes she is ALL those things and more...Marlene

WE {HEART} COMMENTS!
Would you like a prize? Sure you would....make sure you comment on all the amazing projects in our hop for your chance to win this stamp set!

Just Add Glimmer

18 September 2015

Just Add Glimmer!! Ok, twist my arm....if I have to! Haha. I do love a bit of sparkle and this card was inspired by the table setting I created a couple of weeks ago.

If you haven't noticed, I am IN LOVE with just about everything from the new Holiday Catalogue!
I was stressing about making Christmas creations so early, not really wanting to even think that Christmas is looming, but now I'm excited! I do love Christmas.

I used the new Peaceful Wreath stamp set, which coordinates with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits, isn't it just gorgeous?! The sentiment is from the Jingle All the Way stamp set and I think the curvy font is beautiful and compliments this card perfectly.

Make sure to head over and see the amazing Design Team over at Just Add Ink this week.

Global Design Project - Festive Fireplace

14 September 2015

Have you heard about the Global Design Project yet? If you haven't then it's safe to say that you have quite possibly been living under a rock! This may only be our second challenge, however if you know me at all, you will have heard about it....I'm sure my poor husband is sick of hearing about it. Ha! Never, he loves it!

Each week we have a new challenge, showcasing projects from our amazing Design Team, made up of Demonstrators from all over the globe. The best part is you can play along too!

This week Teneale designed a fabulous skecth challenge for us and I will admit I struggled with that piece not going all the way over, but now it's completed, I'm pleasantly satisfied!

I'm sorry people....Christmas is in the air whether we like it or not! And I do love Christmas, it is just a little scary to think that it's not too far away....and as one of my very good friends said "any excuse to create for Christmas has to be good!"....ok, yes, I have to agree!

Is it just a wee bit terrible that I purchased the Festive Fireplace set just for these cute stockings? I adore them. And even though it's Summer in Australia during Christmas, I still hang stocking over our fireplace. I made this card for a friend who will be able to have three stockings this year, as they are just about to pop any day....another baby card will be on it's way soon!

Enough from me, be sure you go and check out the talented Design Team at the Global Design Project. Why not play along too?!

Global Design Project - Baby Elephant

07 September 2015

Welcome to the very first Global Design Project, #GDP001. To say I am excited is an understatement! The best part is YOU can play along too....Yay!!

Each week there will be a new challenge and the Global Design Project Members are sure to wow you with their creations and keep you so inspired you will be itching to create and play along.

Our first challenge is a colour challenge and if you follow my blog you will know that colour challenges are not on my favourites list! I did enjoy this challenge though and I am quite happy with my result. A sweet baby card for my beautiful friend Angie who welcomed to the world a gorgeous baby girl this week.

I watercoloured the background with an Aqua Painter and pressed ink into the lids of Pink Pirouette and So Saffron to achieve a soft, pastel watercolored look. The balloon is from the Hey, Girl stamp set and I hope you have noticed the silver thread bow....I will just say that tying a tiny bow like that isn't for the faint-hearted! I inserted a slit in the elephant with a craft-knife and inserted piece of velum for the elephants ear.

Now head on over to the Global Design Project and see all our amazing Design Team Members and why not play along too?!

Congratulations to my beautiful friend Angie and her partner Chris on the safe arrival of baby Imogen Willow, she's simply perfect in every way.

INKspired Blog Hop - Embellished Ornaments

06 September 2015

INKspired Blog Hop

Welcome to our 24th INKspired Blog Hop. You have just arrived here from my beautiful bestfriend Kabrina.

With the launch of the NEW amazing Holiday Catalogue this week (view in my side bar) I couldn't go past creating something with one of new stamp sets, Embellished Ornaments.

Teneale's sketch this week leaves a lot of white space and I really like it as it promotes my favourite style...clean and classy!

This stamp set is divine and I was inspired by the watercoloured one on page 15, however wanted to stick with a more traditional Christmas colour with Real Red.

I stamped the image in Real Red onto Watercolor Paper and went over with a Blender Pen and highlighted the outsides with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker.

Now moving on to my super talented and super sweet team member Marlene.
