Global Design Project - Colour Challenge

29 May 2017

#GDP089
It's a sad day over at the Global Design Project because I'm losing my partner in crime Kylie Bertucci. *insert frownie face* Even though I am sad that Kylie won't on the GDP with us anymore (maybe one day I will coerce her back!) I know that you won't miss her too much as she will play along all the time (won't you Kylie?) and will still be inspiring us with all her amazing projects on her blog - craftkylie.com.

The story behind GDP:
Kylie and I co-created this fabulous challenge group back in February 2015 and it's been a lot of fun to say the least! As you know, we have a awesome Design Team offering incredible inspiration each and every week and I am sure I speak for Kylie as well when I say that we are so grateful for this challenge and those who play along and support it.

THANK YOU KYLIE for all your hard work, knowledge and support running this challenge with me. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment and truly appreciate your friendship. The Global Design Project wouldn't exist without you!  #iloveyoukindofalot #thanksforeverything

It's a colour challenge this week over at the GDP this week and of course I made this card for my beautiful friend Kylie.
The NEW Annual Catalogue is nearly here and I am giving you a sneak peek of two new stamp sets. The flowers are from the Daisy Delight stamp set and the sentiment is from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see what the amazing Design Team have in store for you this week.

Be Inspired Blog Hop - Favourite Celebration

25 May 2017

Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrived here from my beautiful friend Sarah Berry from the UK. If you are starting here please make sure you hit the next button at the bottom of this post and hop all the way around.

The theme for this hop is 'Your Favourite Celebration'. Firstly, I have to say that I think weddings and babies would be on par with each other for me. I enjoy weddings and being able to witness two people who love each other commit to a life together - plus dressing up is fun! However, this week babies win, because my lovely friend Belinda welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world yesterday. Celebrating the birth of a new baby is always special. I love their little fingers and toes and who can resist the sweet smell of a newborn baby - it's simply heaven!
This card was inspired by a card my lovely friend and Artisan Team Member created a couple of months ago. Holly Stene from Holly's Hobbies made the cutest baby card using the Moon Baby stamp set and I wanted to put my spin on it.  Thanks for the inspiration Holly!

Firstly I cut the circle using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and stamped the moon baby stamp with Archival Black Ink with the star coming off a little from the bottom. I stamped the image again into Shimmery White and watercoloured with the Watercolor Pencils and an Aqua Painter. I then used a my paper snips and cut out the baby and moon, removing the bow and star and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. I the cut  out the star and glued it with small amount of Multipurpose Tombow Glue. The clouds are from the Up and Away Thinlits Dies and the sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set.

Next up for you to 'Be Inspired' by is my talented friend Allison Okamitsu from the Canada. I wonder what her favourite celebration will be? The celebration of our friendship? Hahaha (I celebrate that everyday!)

Aim for Alaska Blog Hop

24 May 2017

Welcome to the Aim for Alaska Blog Hop! You are currently at Louise Sharp - please make sure at the bottom of the this post you click on the person after me.

What is Aim For Alaska? It is an online training Facebook group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who receive training and coaching from the amazing Kylie Bertucci, who runs a successful Stampin' Up! business herself and was ranked number #1 in Australia this past year. This group also supports each other with our own knowledge and wisdom and with any luck some of us will earn the next incentive trip to Alaska by September!

The theme for this hop is 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek - just in case you weren't enough excited about the release of the upcoming catalogue on 1st June!

I just LOVE this little girl from the Birthday Delivery stamp set on page 69 of the new catalogue. She is so sweet. I watercoloured her dress with Soft Sky and Dapper Denim and her hair is Daffodil Delight with highlights of Crumb Cake.
I made a similar card only recently and so many people loved her that I wanted to create more for another group I am part of called the Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Group. I am in a swap group with 10 other ladies who will be receiving one of these sweet little girls. (Sorry to ruin the surprise to any of the swap girls - hopefully now you're even more excited?!)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Again, please make sure you click on the next person after me on the list:

The 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue will go live on the 1st June. If you live in Australia and would like a copy of the upcoming catalogue please Click Here and I will pop one in the post for you.  *Australian Residents Only.

Global Design Project - CASEing Shawn

22 May 2017

#GDP088
This week at the Global Design Project we are getting our inspiration from one of our talented Design Team Members, Shawn de Oliveira from the US. I have always loved Shawn's clean and sophisticated style.

The definition of CASE: Copy And Share Everything
Put simply, we get our inspiration from a particular project or creation. For this challenge we can use ANY element. You might be inspired by the colours, the stamp set or the card layout.
I have always loved the large rose from the Rose Wonder stamp set and even more exciting is that this stamp set is carrying over into the new catalogue. It's a beautiful and versatile stamp set and with the coordinating Rose Garden Thinlits, I would go as far to say it should be a staple item in your stamping stash!

I have seen many different creations made using this set and this stamp really does do all the work! I wanted to keep my card clean and simple with some easy watercolouring using the Aqua Painter and ink from the lids of Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz. To do this I used a small amount of ink and lightly coloured the entire area and left to dry. I repeated the process only focusing on the darker areas, leaving to dry after each colour and used papersnips to cut out the flower, leaving off the large leaf. I then adhere the flower using Multipurpose Glue to the top the card - leaving the edges of the rose to curl up a little, giving it that slight amount of dimension.

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see what the amazing Design Team have in store for you this week.

I made the ice-creams using the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies which coordinate with the Cool Treats Stamp Set. The waffle cones are cut out from the Tasty Treats Specialty Paper. I decided on a long card this week and I really like it - I think you will see this type of card from me a little more often!

Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrived here from my beautiful friend Sarah Berry from the UK. If you are starting here please make sure you hit the next button at the bottom of this post and hop all the way around.

The theme for this hop is 'Your Favourite Colour or Colour Combination'. WELL - THAT'S A NO BRAINER! Hahaha. Yes, my favourite colour is pink! Even though my favourite colour is pink, my favourite colour combination would have to be Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette and Pear Pizzaz.

Those little watercolored flowers are from the  Birthday Blooms stamp set is such a gorgeous set and also versatile - not just for birthdays! The best thing is that this set is carrying over to the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue (which is launching next month...squeal!). I have already used this set so many times and I'm sure you will see me use it again.

Next up for you to 'Be Inspired' by is the 'KING' of papercraft himself, Brian King from the US. I know he will have something amazing for you and I am always so inspired by his work....and his singing...and his razor sharp wit! (Surely I've earned some good brownie points by now!! Hahaha)

Global Design Project - Sketch Challenge

08 May 2017

There's a sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project and I generally love sketch challenges - however doing things on a slant is something I struggle with!
I made this card for my Mum who recently finished a quilt she had been working on for quite a few months. She recently entered it into a local show/fair and it was loved by all. No prize unfortunately, however a huge congratulations for even getting finished and entered in the show.

SNEAK PEEK ALERT:
The scissors are from a new upcoming stamp set called Crafting Forever - and yes you will love it!
I couldn't help but make the card all pink and I wasn't sure about mixing Melon Mambo with Flirty Flamingo, but hey, it works! All of the Stampin' Up! colours really do coordinate so well together, I really should have know better than to doubt it!

Below is my Mum's stunning quilt. All of those hexagons are handstitched! I really do think this would look gorgeous in my guest room (hint, hint, nudge, nudge!)
