Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop

28 February 2018

Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrived here from the amazingly Jenny Hall talented from the US. If you are starting here please make sure you hit the next button at the bottom of this post and hop all the way around.

The theme for this hop is 'Be Inspired by Texture'.

I'll be honest, I didn't know where to start with this theme! I played with the new embossing paste and it didn't seem to work well with my project, even though I love the paste, I turned to my embossing folders (which have been collecting dust lately) and I'm much happier with the result and with the white embossed cake and sentiment I am hoping I have added enough texture to my project to be deemed 'texture' worthy to your liking! lol
I used the new stamp set Cake Soiree from the Occasions Catalogue and watercoloured it using Watercolor pencils and an Aqau Painter. The 'amazing' sentiment was created using the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies and coordinating Amazing You stamp set which are both part of the Sale-a-Bration 2018 promotion.

I made this card for our darling daughter, Emily, who is celebrating her 15th birthday today. It's hard to believe that 15 years have passed since bringing this amazing human into the world and yet other days it feels like she has always been a part of me, as though life didn't really exist until she was born - (I think you would have to be a Mum to understand or make sense of that). I feel incredibly blessed and grateful everyday that I get to be a Mum to such a caring, kind and loving soul.

Next up to 'Be Inspired' by is my talented and fabulous friend Brian King from the US and his card is brilliant - of course!

I am also adding this card to this weeks Global Design Project #127 challenge using Sale-a-Bration products. I suggest going and seeing all the brilliant creations of the Design Team this week - only after hopping around the Be Inspired Team of course!

Thanks for hopping by!

Global Design Project - CASEing Louise Sharp!

06 February 2018

Edited: You may have realised that my blog posts have not been sending. This was due to a glitch with my Blogger platform - hopefully this has been resolved. If you have any problems with the links, searching other posts or viewing pictures can you please let me know, thanks :)

Yes, that's right - I am CASEing myself this week for the Global Design Project challenge this week! I will admit that it's a bit exciting to be a CASE Designer on the GDP - to think that everyone playing is being inspired by you is really fun!

The definition of CASE: Copy And Share Everything or as the GDP call it Copy And Selectively Edit! Put simply, we get our inspiration from a particular project or creation. For this challenge we can use ANY element. You might be inspired by the colours, the stamp set or the card layout.

I do love my wreath cards. Wreaths are great anytime of year and that also goes for wreath cards in my humble opinion! I used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies to create the swirly wreath and the flowers from the new Perennial Birthday stamp set to create a square note card. The sentiment is from another new stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday

The inspiration for my card also came from the Stampin' Up! 30th Year Anniversary marketing. This year, in October 2018 the company turns 30 and I feel so blessed to be part of this incredibly generous and loving company. I made this card for an employee of the company (it should come of no surprise that I'm running a little late as their birthday was last month!) and I'm hoping to make more like it to send to people this year who have inspired, supported and helped on my crafting journey.

Now head over the Global Design Project and see all the amazing projects for this weeks challenge and I would also love you to play along.

Added in the edit: I feel I need to clear my name regarding Brian King's blog post about me this week and thinking Patsy Cline is a famous Australian. Well, when I was a young child the only famous singers I really knew were Patsy Cline, John Denver, Peter Allen and Olivia Newton-John... ppppllllleasssse tell me I wasn't the only one?!!! And as a child I always thought they were all Australians. Turns out the only fair-dinkum ones were Peter Allen and Olivia Newton-John! And now Brian will never let me live it down...amongst a few other things - lucky I know he loves me!!

I am also adding last weeks cards for the Global Design Project here due to my Blogger issues this past week. Last week the theme was 'New Beginnings' and I made a card for James who was starting High, I am still not over it yet and yes, I cried! After making one for James I decided that Emily also needed one - being that we are the house of 'Sharps' and the new stamp set Truly Tailored was obviously made with us in mind!! LOL

Emily and James heading to High School together for the first time:
