Be Inspired Blog Hop - My Favourite Designer Series Paper

22 June 2017

Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrived here from my beautiful friend Sarah Berry from the UK. If you are starting here please make sure you hit the next button at the bottom of this post and hop all the way around.

The theme for this hop is 'Your Favourite Designer Series Paper'.

I have to admit that there was more than one in the running and narrowing it down was tough! In 3rd place was Bundle of Love with the beautiful pastel blues and pinks and the gold foil, it is beautiful. 2nd place was Delightful Daisy with all its gorgeous floral patterns. Drum roll please....AND THE WINNER is....WHOLE LOT OF LOVELY!! I simply couldn't go past the pink polka dots and pink floral paper. This DSP is just GORE-JUSS!

I kept these cards simple (don't fall over!) with minimal layering. I let the paper do all the work and added some twine because you all know how much I love a touch of thread!  Now, tell me, what is your favourite Design Series Paper?

Next up to 'Be Inspired' by is my amazingly talented friend Brian King from the the US. He is the MASTER of showcasing Designer Series Paper and quite often uses papers I've somehow missed. I have been lucky enough to have seen his project this week and I know you will love it.....hop on over...

InKing Royalty's Color Me Happy Blog Hop

21 June 2017

I am so EXCITED to be a guest on the InKing Royalty's June 2017 Blog Hop today! The InKing Royalty Team is led by none other than my very talented and special friend, Brian King.

Brian is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator from Atlanta, Georgia USA and we met back in 2013 at the Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. (Truth be told he just couldn't go on stamping unless we were friends and I agreed! Hahaha)

You may have just arrived here from the wonderful Lisa Pretto - love her! After you read my post, please hop over to the next person on the list at the bottom of this post.

The theme for the hop is 'Color Me Happy' and we are getting our inspiration from by Stampin' Up!'s 2017-2019 In Colors which are Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide.

I decided to use my favourite three - Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. The new 2017-2019 In-Colors are bold and bright, however I wanted to show how they can still be soft and feminine too.

The rose is from the new Graceful Garden stamp set on page 57 and the sentiment if from the new Lovely Inside & Out stamp set on page 157. Both the rose and the sentiment have been stamped in VersaMark and embossed with White Embossing Power. I watercoloured the rose with Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. The base of the card and the piece through the middle are Powder Pink Cardstock.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my project. Now please hop to the next stop on the blog hop, Jackie Beers from Blue Linen Stamping. The full list of inspiring stampers is below and you won't want to miss any - they are all amazing, so please hop through them all!

Global Design Project - CASE the Designer

19 June 2017

#GDP092
This week at the Global Design Project we are getting our inspiration from one of our talented Design Team Members, Steffi Helmschrott from Germany. I love Steffi's clean, elegant style and her watercoloring always blows my mind!

The definition of CASE: Copy And Share Everything or as the GDP call it Copy and Selectively Edit!  Put simply, we get our inspiration from a particular project or creation. For this challenge we can use ANY element. You might be inspired by the colours, the stamp set or the card layout.
I took my inspiration from Steffi's card layout and watercolouring and decided to break open my new This Little Piggy stamp set - don't you just love the name?!

To create my watercoloured piggy I used a Basic Grey and Powder Pink Stampin' Write Marker to draw the the outline of the pig and the wings and stamped it onto Watercolor Paper. I then used my Aqua Painter to colour the pig and wings. The clouds are stamped in Soft Sky.

I made this card for my wonderful friend Linda Heller. This is Linda and I pigging out sharing a croissant and coffee in in Marseilles, France last year...this is how we roll...we meet in France for our coffee dates! Hahaha. (Actually it was for the Stampin' Up! incentive trip. Sadly I didn't earn the Thailand incentive trip and won't be catching up with all my global friends next month - I'm sure they will do a good job of keeping me updated and surely the trip won't be same without me?? ;) *wink, wink* Oh and have a croissant and coffee for me Linda!)

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see what the amazing Design Team have in store for you this week.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

16 June 2017

Welcome to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrived here from my lovely friend Kimberly Van Diepen from the US - she is so amazing! At the bottom of the page please hit the next button to move around and see all the beautiful projects.

The focus product for this hop is the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set. I always use the word 'gorgeous' and saying "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" just works don't you think?!
When it doubt put a pretty tag on it! Not only does that apply for gifts, but cards too. I made this tag card using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and threaded it with some new 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon in Bermuda Bay and tied it off with Linen Thread. I created the flowers by stamping in VersaMark and using White Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool to make them white and watercolored them with an Aqua Painter. I cut the flowers and leaves out with Paper Snips and arranged them in the top left corner of the tag and adhered them with Multipurpose Glue.

The background paper is not some clever masking trick - it's new Designer Series Paper!! Cool huh?! It's from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack and honestly, this paper is fun! It's bright and colourful and has a few different options that look like some kind of clever paper techniques without having to do any of work! I placed a piece of Vellum over the top and placed the glue in the centre so that no glue marks could be seen (the tag covers it perfectly!).

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my project. Next on the hop is my lovely friend and talented papercrafter, Maike Ulbrich from Germany.
