The Christmas Table 2017

25 December 2017

The Global Design Project have a fabulous theme this week - Home for the Holidays. It could be that you are at a different 'home' - possibly making your celebrations at your 'holiday home'? We would love you to play along and this challenge will run for two weeks.

Merry Christmas. I spent the morning unwrapping gifts with kids followed by breakfast at my Mums with my brothers and their families then lunch at my place - needless to say that I am currently experiencing a food coma!!

The Christmas Table brings fond memories for me. When I was young our family celebrated Christmas at my Grandparents home and my Nan was always the most gracious host. Her cooking was filled with love and we tasted it with every mouthful. As I got older Christmas was hosted by my Mum and she too always put a lot of effort into making us feel loved - and full!

For the past two years I have had the opportunity to prepare the Christmas table - which, as you know I LOVE to do! This year I was inspired by the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon...I have rolls of it (because I love it so much) and I figured it needed to be used. The blue and white theme with a hint of gold and some beachy elements - I was going for an Aussie/Hamptons-style Christmas.
Stampin' Up! do such an amazing job of knowing what we need don't they? I mean, the creative designers must have known I would need Green Sprigs (page 12 Holiday Catalogue) for the napkins! And if you don't already own the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set, then you should. I use the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment every year and the stamp set is so versatile with sentiments for every occasion. The personalised monogrammed-style favours were made using the Letters for You stamp set and coordinating Large Letter Framelits. I used the holly from the Cheery Chirps stamp set (page 41 from the Holiday Catalogue), watercoloured them and used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to give them some shine....yes it was a little tedious to cut them out - but sooo worth it!

Below is the Australian themed Christmas table from last year - Click Here to see more.

A massive THANK YOU to all my customers, family, friends and blog followers. You make my heart full and I am so grateful for all your love and support. Merry Christmas to you and your families.  xo

Tons of love,

Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop - Merry Cafe

15 December 2017

Welcome to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrived here from my lovely friend Kimberly Van Diepen from the US, who I simply adore!

Today the Artisan Design Team are highlighting the Merry Cafe stamp set. This is a really fun set and a great addition to your Christmas stamp collection - not only because it is super cute, but it's also really versatile and can be used for other seasonal events too.
I used a combination of different stamps to create the sentiment. By colouring the stamp with a Stampin' Write Marker it's really easy to just use part of the stamp.

I made this card for a lovely girl at our local coffee shop who has made my (*very lame) 1/4 strength almond latte for the past 20 months since we moved here. She is moving away for a new chapter of her life and will be sorely missed by many locals - including me!

Next on the hop is my talented friend Maike Beimler from Germany. I love her whimsical style and she seems to add certain soft touch to everything she creates.

Global Design Project - Christmas Joy - Cheery Chirps

27 November 2017

#GDP115
I truly am feeling quite 'joyful' about this weeks theme for the Global Design Project....I L.O.V.E all things Christmas! The shops are twinkling and have pretty displays PLUS the Global Design Team are creating some gorgeous projects to get you inspired.

I am going to be honest - I watercoloured this beautiful blue bird from the Cheery Chirps stamp set in on page 41 of the Holiday Catalogue weeks ago - knowing that it would be going on a card at some stage! Even though it doesn't need to be coloured blue, it reminded me of a little blue bird broach I had as a young child. Christmas always brings back fond childhood memories for me, hence this bird just had to be blue.

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see what the amazing Design Team have in store for you this week.

Be Inspired Blog Hop

23 November 2017

Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. It's a short and sweet hop tonight, but I'm sure you will still be completely inspired to craft afterwards!

You may have just arrived here from my lovely friend Maike Ulbrich from Germany. If you are starting here please make sure you hit the next button at the bottom of this post and hop all the way around.

The theme for this hop is 'Be Inspired by Circles'.

I wanted to share the room gifts I made my team girls who went to the recent Stampin' Up! Onstage event - however, in true 'Louise' style I packed them before taking a photo! They were similar to the box below and I made this one for a little surprise I made my bestfriend, Mehgan (from Phoenix, AZ) - I know she will appreciate this sweet monogrammed box - well she better! lol

The Mini Pizza Box is a new product in the Holiday Catalogue on page 44. They are 3x3" and so stinkin' cute! They are also food safe - great for a handmade biscuit or even a piece of salted caramel slice....(cough, cough...FYI for those looking to bring me anything for Christmas ;))

Next up to 'Be Inspired' by is my talented and super sweet friend, Janneke de Jong from the Netherlands.
