Case Study Challenge

31 December 2012

 Case Study Challenge 122

This will be the last blog post for the year. What a year it has been!

I know that most other blog friends are posting cards themed around New Year's,
but today I'm showing a card made for Mum, since I think her birthday card is just as much 'fun' as all the New Year's cards out there!

Ok, so maybe 'fun' might not be the word to describe this card, but when we go to our favourite little tea shop - 'The Berry Teapot Shop' on the NSW southcoast, we have lots of fun! Sipping tea and enjoying delicious scones with jam and cream - sounds like lots of fun to me!

My Mum loves blue and white china, so this card was made just for her....and the Case Study Challenge! (insert grin!)

Happy Birthday Mum - love you to moon and back.

Happy New Year everyone, wishing you a fabulous Stampin' 2013!

Just Add Ink Challenge - Christmas

20 December 2012

'Just Add Christmas' is the theme for the Just Add Ink Challenge and I just love, love, love everything Christmas! I thought instead of a card I would share a Christmas Birdhouse with you. I cased this fabulous house idea from Ann Craig who demonstrated a birdhouse like this one at the Sydney Heartfelt Event this year.

I'm using mine as a home decor piece on one of my side tables - isn't it just lovely!? Well I think so - insert smiley face!

Thanks for stopping by,
Lou X

P.S I had to create the house design myself and I'm not sure how to get the instruction sheet on my blog with how to enlarge etc, so if you would like a copy of my birdhouse plans, please email me!

Just Add Ink Challenge - Balloons

11 December 2012

I thought I would quickly play along at the Just Add Ink Challenge this week, which is themed around 'Balloons'. As soon as a noticed the theme I knew I had to use a stamp from my newly aquired stamp set, 'Little Friends', which was actually a gift from my upline Teneale Williams - Thanks Teneale!

I thought this would be a great thank you card for a pre-school teacher, so I also made a super simple, yet very cute gift bag using the Big Shot Fancy Favor Bigz Die and paper from the Storytime Designer Paper.

Stamp Set: Little Friends - Page 52
Accessories: Watercolor Paper, Blender Pen, Stampin' Markers, Baker's Twine, Stitched Grosgrain

Product Spotlight-12 Weeks of Christmas -Week 9!

09 December 2012

So firstly, you will need to forgive me. Afterall Christmas is about forgiving isn't it?!

Yes, I have missed weeks 3,4,5,6,7,8! Where have they gone? I was hoping to cover so many of my Christmas projects - and there has been a quite a few, but I just haven't given my blog 'home' the love and attention it has needed over the past few weeks.

So instead of going back and covering all those weeks, I've decided to just start from week 9 and hope to cover as much as I can until Christmas.

This weeks Product Spotlight is the Keepsakes Ornament Stamp Set with matching Framelits.
I have loved this set. It makes the ornament on the Holiday Catalogue and I made my ornament using the Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper and it has been a hit in my house!

I have made many cards using the Keepsakes Ornament Stamp Set, but here a selected few that make quick and effective Christmas cards.
Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set - Page 3 Holiday Catalogue
Wood - $60.95  Clear - $48.95

Matching Holiday Ornaments Framelits - $ 42.95

Buy set as a bundle and save 15%!
Wood - $87.95   Clear - $77.95

I have also really love the elegant colours in the Candlelight Christmas DSP on page 4 of the Holiday Catalogue. $16.95 for 12 sheets of 6 designs.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for being understanding!

Craft Dash - 10 Minute Challenge

17 November 2012

If you're anything like me - I'm always doing a craftroom dash for a card. Usually it's because my children have a birthday party to go to and I'm in need of a card. Today was no different! I don't generally blog post them, well, because I don't think my very simple '10 minute dash' cards are worthy!

I discovered the Craft Dash Challenge on one of my blog surfing nights and thought this challenge was clever. It's also nice to see some cleaner, more easier cards that haven't taken 3 hours to produce! Sometimes our '10 Minute Dash' cards are just as nice!

Stamp Set: Dinoroar - Page 64 Stampin' Up! Catalogue
Accessories: Chevron Embossing Folder, Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Blender Pen,
Stampin' Markers
Colour Combination:Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Event - Sydney 2012

15 November 2012

Last Saturday I attended the Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Event at Sydney Convention Centre. I was so excited and humbled when I was invited by Stampin' Up! to be part of the event and provide my expertise at the Product Playground 'Wheels' Table!
- I will admit that I didn't start out much of an 'expert' in the Stampin' Wheel department - but I can say that I'm pretty confident with them now!

Here are some pictures of my creations..

The 'Etrucsan' wheel, in my opinon, is so underrate! It is in the Holiday Catalogue, but with all the halloween stamps, on page 25. I wanted to create a wedding range & think this wheel really lends itself to the elegance of a wedding set.

Masking technique using the 'Good Cheer' builder wheel:

My name at the Product Playgound Table! (Aaarrrhhh - I was screaming with excitment inside when I noticed my name!) It was hard to believe that I was even worthy of being noted with such amazing talent!

This is Cate (left) from Stampin' Up! Head Office. Thanks Cate for inviting me to take part. Mwah!

I hope you enjoyed a little taste of Heartfelt.

Just Add Ink Challenge

14 November 2012

Before I start posting about my first Stampin' Up! Heartfelt experience, I really wanted to make sure the girls over at Just Add Ink knew I still loved them! ;)

I have been feeling a little emotional lately and feel the need to be grateful about so many things...especially all the little things! Our son, James loves animals and we are lucky enough to have two lambs on our property lately, from next door. They are growing so quickly and wanted to get a picture of James feeding them, but at this stage they only like the food being thrown at them! I felt grateful for the lambs today, along with a million other things, but they make my son happy and in-turn make me happy.

Here are the (not so tiny anymore) lambs!

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is a colour challenge. Not my usual choise of soft hues and pinks! I had to step out of my comfort zone a little.

No insert today...I would never had finished it it time to get it enetered!

The ribbon is seam binding ribbon I died using Tangerine Tango stamp pad...you will need to let it dry before getting it to stick....trust me! :)

Stay tuned for Heartfelt post and catch up of my 12 Weeks of Christmas...I'll get there, promise!

Where Oh Where Have I Been?

09 November 2012

Please forgive me, especially those who follow my blog religiously!

I treat my blog a little like my craft 'home' and both are in need of some TLC! However, just because I'm not blogging doesn't mean I haven't been creating! I have been working around the clock the past few weeks, one to get ready for the Penrith Craft Show and this weekend is Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Regionals at Sydney Convention Centre. I am on a Product Playground Table - so if you're coming, please be sure to come over and say 'hi'. I'm so excited to be involved and have some beautiful creations, however cannot post them until after the event!

Thought I would share some images from the Stampin' Up! Stand and the Penrith Paper Crafts Festival.

I will post up some more soon.

P.S I know I'm a few weeks behind Lou's Product Spotlight & 12weeks of Christmas - but back-up posts are on their way... Stay tuned!

Papillon Potpourri Gift Box Set

20 October 2012

I thought I would share a little something I have made using my new Papillon Potpourri Butterfly Stamp Set and Punch. It's such a great set to have in my stamp collection and I think you should have it too! (Insert smirk and wink here!)

There are 8 cards and I used colours from the Stampin' Up! Brights Collection. Really quick and easy to make, but an impressive gift set - don't you think!?

The box was made using the another new product to my collection - The Simply Scored.

Head over to Connie Stewart's Two Tone Box Making to see how I have created this box. I changed the measurements to suit and used a piece of Window Sheet for the lid, because I like the thought of being able to see the card on top.

Stamp Sets: Papillon Popourri, Tea for Two.
Box: Betsy's Blossoms
Accessories: Pearls, 1cm Satin Stitched Ribbon
Tools: Simply Scored, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Modern Label Punch, 4.4cm Circle Punch

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S - Love your comments. ;)
