Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop

29 October 2015

Hello and welcome to our Grand Vacation Blog Hop for October. This blog hop is to celebrate those who have earned the Mediterranean Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation this year and also showcase our creations with you and share our love of Stampin' Up!.

The theme for this blog hop is 'Inspired By Project Life'

I will tell you that I have been trying to get started with 'memory keeping' with Project Life, however I simply haven't managed to get my act together! I promise I will and I also promise that I will let you know when I do. I actually purchased the beautiful Moments Like These Card Collection and Accessory Kit to finally get started - and you guessed it - I have not even touched ONE photo!! So, here is a really quick and easy card using one of the gorgeous gold foil speciality cards.

Apart from LOVING the gold foil on this card I also really like the sentiment too. This will be a special card for our daughter, who will be finishing primary school at the end of the year *insert sigh* and moving into high school next year - I am struggling to even write those words without feeling faint-hearted! I'm sure if you're a Mumma and have been through this stage you can relate....and possibly give me some advice?!  LOL

Global Design Project - CASE the Designer

26 October 2015

Hello!! This week over at the Global Design Project we have a Case the Designer challenge.  This week we are casing the wonderful and talented Kylie Bertucci! She has a gorgeous card that we were inspired by. It might be the colours, the stamps used or even the layout that we can take inspiration from.  Here is Kylie's card -

I have decided to go with the Stamp set and use my signature Louise Sharp colour (the best colour in the world) PINK! And yes I did fussy cut those flowers from the Bountiful Border Stamp set, it took some patience but I totally think it was worth it.

Can you see the small pearls that I added in? I love what this adds to the card - just creates such elegance right away. The sentiment I raised on dimensionals.

Are you wondering where the background came from? I am not going to tell you! See if you can work it out and tell me in your comments below. I know it's not very nice of me not to share - but I want to make you think of what it could be... You will be surprised when you find out.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my Global Design Project creation this week. Be sure to go and admire our amazing Design Team and also play along with us this week too!

Global Design Project - Farm Theme

19 October 2015

#GDP007

This week over at the Global Design Project we have a theme challenge. The theme is 'Farm' and even though I live in the outer suburbs of Sydney Australia, we live on acreage and everyday I wake and out our large glass doors of my bedroom at the moment I see baby lambs and a new little calf (not ours though, next neighbours!) I love Spring, not only for the lovely weather, the longer days and flowers, but also because of the welcoming of the new baby animals.

I made this card for our neighbours who have a hobby farm and another little business that I am hoping they enter into the local business awards this year, because they work so hard.  They are also just great neighbours and I we are lucky to have them.

I used the adorable Barnyard Babies stamp set from the Annual Catalogue and stamped it onto Shimmer Paper with the new Archival Black Ink, which both stamps beautifully and can be used with the Stampin' Write Makers to watercolour with and won't run or smear with the pens.

I thought I would try a capture a photo this afternoon of some of our outdoor farm friends, but I didn't manage to get the calf, I did get the sweet little lamb - how adorable is he?! We know he's not ours, but the kids have nick-named him 'Lambington' - how cute.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my Global Design Project creation this week. Be sure to go and admire our amazing Design Team and also play along with us this week too!

INKspired Blog Hop - Festive Flower

18 October 2015

Welcome to another team INKspired blog hop. You may have just hoped here from my best-friend Kabrina. I love her card this week, she is so talented and I love that we share a common craft interest.

This weeks sketch design from Teneale is fabulous. I knew exactly what I wanted to create with this sketch, which is a little unusual for me!

As soon as I spotted the Flower Builder Punch in the new Holiday Catalogue, it reminded me of my Mum and her love for poinsettias at Christmas. She always has a poinsettia plant on the coffee table and it's just not Christmas without one. Hence this will be my Mum's Christmas card this year, I know I might be a bit biased, but isn't it beautiful?!

I will admit that the flower is a little tricky to put together, that was until I watched the video! Hahaha. (I was like my husband last week putting together a piece if Ikea furniture without the instructions...shhh, don't tell him I told you that!)  I would advise to watch the Stampin' Up! technique video before putting this together and even possibly using a hot glue gun if you have one.(Note that I also advise reading the instructions when putting together anything from Ikea!!)

Moving along the hop now to the super lovely and talented Barbara. You will be so inspired by her gorgeous creation this week, I know I was.

Global Design Project - Sketch Challenge

12 October 2015

Have you been following us over at the Global Design Project? If you haven't, you are totally missing out! There is so much inspiration and every week I am simply blown away at each and every single Design Team creation.

This week is a sketch challenge and I was a little worried to start with....because I don't cope with angles, that's why I love these challenge, because they get me thinking outside the box!

Here's this weeks sketch:

I have been wanting to use my new gold stripe washi tape from the Winter Wonderland Designer Washi Tape pack for quite a while now and I started of with just one strip of it under the red bow....then decided to carefully line it all up to create gold lines, cool huh?!

I have also been neglecting my Bow Builder punch and was going to use ribbon instead, but I really like how smart it looks in the real red cardstock with navy base.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my Global Design Project creation this week. Be sure to go and admire our amazing Design Team and also play along with us this week too!

Global Design Project - Colour Challenge

05 October 2015

Colour Challenges. Ugh. Many love them, not this little chicken! I struggle - every.single.time.
I get out every stamp I own and sit and stare, sometimes for hours. I walk away with hope that something comes to me. And thankfully it did!

Here's this weeks colour challenge:

For me, I thought the colours lent themselves to a flower. In Australia we are at the beginning of my favourite season, Spring, and I wanted to use a stamp that I believe has been a little overlooked lately, Blended Bloom.

I stamped it onto Shimmer Paper, which watercolours beautifully with the Aqua Painters, picking up ink from the lid of my Daffodil Delight ink pad and fussy cut it out. I used a sponge to lightly colour the background in soft sky. The sentiment 'Hello Sunshine' signifies the commencement of Spring, to which I am LOVING the warmer weather. Using the Crazy About You stamp set, it has been heat embossed with white embossing power onto black cardstock and carefully trimmed with the Stampin' Trimmer.

I hope you enjoyed my project this week. Make sure you pop over to the Global Design Project to see all the Design Team creations and also why not play along?!

INKspired Blog Hop & Sentimental Sunday

Welcome to another team INKspired blog hop. You may have just hoped here from my best-friend Kabrina. I love her card this week.

This weeks sketch design from Teneale is fabulous.

I have been doing a few cards lately with waterwash backgrounds, so I wanted to avoid that technique this week, as much as I love that look.

I am always saying to my customers "let the Designer Series Paper (DSP) do the work for you!" I really do need to follow my own instruction, because if you do follow me you will know that I really don't use much DSP at all on my creations. And I don't know why? There's so many beautiful ones in the catalogue and I am going to make it my mission to showcase them more.

My amazing, talented friend (and also hilariously funny...just so you know) Brian King is the master of showcasing Designer Series Paper on his projects. This week I decided I wanted to highlight one of my favourite papers in the catalogue from the English Garden pack, isn't it pretty? Ummm...YES! And not a lot of work required to create such a soft and pretty card....if I do say so myself! ;)

Sentimental Sunday is something I created for my blog and it's the day of the week I like to recognise someone special in my life. I don't manage to get to it every Sunday, but I am enjoying sharing the love when I do get to post on a Sunday, like today!

I made this card for a very special Aunty who turned 70 this week, Aunty Carol, who is, if we get technical, actually Daniel's Aunt, but she loves me like a niece and I'm so thankful for her love. Aunty Carol always has a smile and a hug when we see her and James, Master 10, put on a lovely and funny dance display this week for her Birthday. I'm sure she will be laughing about it for weeks....better than any card or present we could have given her....next time I'll just offer up James! LOL

Next on the hop is the super talented and super lovely Barbara. You will love her creation this week, I know I do!
