Happy Easter Tutorial!

31 March 2013

Happy Easter!

Easter is another time of year that I enjoy. I love the Easter egg hunts and crazy, sugar hyped children laughing and playing. It's such a lovely holiday. The weather here this weekend is simply gorgeous, which is adding to enjoyment.

Here are some Easter gifts that I have made for our friends and family:

I cased this idea from a close friend and team member Marie who made one like this for Convention last year - aren't they cute? I thought I would share how I made them.

Step 1. Cut 2 large tags from the Two-Tags Bigz Die

 Step 2. Emboss Tags

Step3. Using stick-strip, join tags together as shown

Step 4. Make Box by cutting cardstock 9.5cm x 11.7cm
Score the whole way around at 2.5cm

Step 5.Cut 4 insertions as shown and put box together using sticky-strip.
Note - don't peal sticky-strip off the base until you are attaching to the tags.

6.One box is together, peel off sticky-strip from the base and place inside
the two tags. Place sticky-strip up the sides of the box as shown, peel and fold up tags.

7. Place yummy treats into box!

8. Tie with pretty ribbon and decorate as you choose!

9. Voila!

I hope you run away and make these - they are so easy.

A Very Special 40th!

29 March 2013

A couple of weeks ago a very special family member, friend and team member, Marlene Goulder celebrated her 40th! I didn't believe her when she said she was turning 40 - hence the card -'You're such an Amazing 40!' - and she is!

****Happy Birthday Marlene****

I really love the new Two-Tone Ribbon from the Seasonal Catalogue - isn't it just devine?!

I also made this for Marlene as she is in the process of doing up her craft space and I'm hoping this will help out with orgainising.

Is This Really Happening?

18 March 2013

A very excited Teneale Williams arrives at my door. She is holding a bottle of champagne that boasts to be 'Sweet, Pink & Luscious' - all my favourite things in life!

She is also holding the most exquist card I have ever seen and must have taken her hours to create. Am I dreaming? Teneale Williams is at my house, holding a card for me! Some people idol rock stars, singers, actors etc, but in the world of craft, my idol is Teneale - is she not simply amazing?!

Teneale has been here many times, but this time feels different - surreal - a ''is this really happening?'' moment.

Why is Teneale here with bubbly?  ....   Drum roll please -

I'M GOING TO UTAH!

You may remember me asking for help to get there - and I am truly so grateful and thankful for everyone who has helped me this past year to achieve my 'Utah' goal!

Thank you, thank you, thank you

I made Headlines at Paper Players!

17 March 2013

Just a quick post because I am just a tad excited to be chosen as this weeks 'Headliner'
over at the Paper Players Challenge for my Everybunny card!

The design team all pick their favourite or their 'Cut Above' choices and then the design team member who creates the challenge for the week picks a 'Headliner' - in this case it was

This is what Nance said about my card:

"Louise stole my heart with her sweet little bunny card!  The crisp, clean lines attracted my attention but her amazing watercoloring pushed it right over the top.  She really highlighted how pretty these colors are together by using all of them to great effect in her main image.  The double ribbon bow is so playful and the oval Easter egg shape is perfect for this beautiful springtime creation."

How sweet - thank you Nance.

I now get to 'wear' this badge on my blog with pride!

Here's the card again:

The Paper Players Challenge 136

Does anyone else feel that Easter is sneaking up on them?

Easter, yes, Easter - crazy isn't it?! I do love Easter though - and this stamp set called 'Everybunny'. I enjoy colouring with the Stampin' Markers and watercolor paper, I actually find colouring relaxing.

I have been making a few frequent visits to a challenge blog for ideas called The Paper Players
All of the design team are amazing and I stalk check out their blogs often!

This weeks challenge is a colour challenge:

I have to say that I wasn't too sure about the Early Espresso, but I quite like the result now:

A Girl & Her Giraffe!

10 March 2013

Last week marked a decade that hit me with a wave of anxiety. In what seems a 'blink', ten years have gone by and now our beautiful, gorgeous daughter, Emily, is TEN!

I can remember like yesterday bringing her into the world and marvelled. I am still marvelling that we have been so spolit and lucky to have such an amazing little (big) girl who has made our world a better place, simply by being it.

Meet Godfrey. Her toy giraffe. I always imagined when she was born that she would carry some cute little teddy or doll. But no, she wanted this giraffe from about 6 months and was not giving it up! Under her arm he has stayed - and right at this moment they are watching a movie together!

Here is Godfrey:
(Very well loved and has been to 'Nanny Hospital' a few times for surgery!)

I have kept this (non-SU) stamp for a while, because I think it was made just for her! There's no other stamp in the world that has a little girl holding a giraffe! Teddies, dolls, rabbits, flowers...the list goes on, but a giraffe!?

Insert:

Emily's favourite colour is 'Pool Party' blue!
I also made her a cake in 'pool party' - head over to my facebook page to see the photos.
