Global Design Project - CASE the Designer

27 March 2017

#GDP080
I am SO EXCITED!!!! For the Global Design Project this week there's a CASE the Designer Challenge and yours truly is the inspiration for the week! Yay.

The definition of CASE: Copy And Share Everything
Put simply, we get our inspiration from a particular project or creation. For this challenge we can use ANY element. You might be inspired by the colours, the stamp set or the card layout.

I decided to stick with the card layout as I really like it. I made this card for my new(ish) friend, Belinda who came over last week and LOVED my last card I made using the Urban Underground Designer Series Paper - her words exactly were "this card is so hot!" - bless her! So I decided to use the same DSP to create a more feminine, yet still keeping that funky feel. (Yes...it needed a small hint of pink!)

The stamp set is from the Window Shopping stamp set and I have been wanting to use it for a while now - it's finally seen the daylight! I stamped the image straight onto the paper with Versa Mark and set it with White Embossing Powder - looks like the chalk board effect without all the work because the paper did it all for me....I love it when things like that happen #winning!

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see what the amazing Design Team have in store for you this week.

Be Inspired Blog Hop

23 March 2017

Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. We have a mixture of amazingly talented Stampin' Up! papercrafters from around the world and every two weeks we will showcase our work with the intention for you to 'Be Inspired' and I have no doubt the team will do just that!

You may have just arrived here from my beautiful friend Sarah Berry from the UK. If you are starting here please make sure you hit the next button at the bottom of this post and hop all the way around.

The theme for this hop is 'Urban Underground'. It's only the theme name and we don't have to use products from that particular product suite. I have used the very funky Urban Underground Designer Series Paper and the Urban District stamp set. The embellishments from this suite are cool too and add an extra blokey feel....which is sometimes a challenge when creating masculine cards...well it is for me, I struggle with male cards.
I made this a 10cmx10cm square size card, which is smaller than the cards I generally make and I'm really happy with the result. Of course this is for my #1 husband who has only just finished opening all those love notes from my last project I made!

Next up for you to 'Be Inspired' by is my beautiful, loving and brilliant friend Brian King from the US.

If you live in Australia I would love to be your demonstrator! You can click on any of the items below and purchase them from my online shop: MARCH HOSTESS CODE: FS93Y44G

Global Design Project - Little Cuties

20 March 2017

#GDP079
Over at the Global Design Project we have an awesome theme challenge that took me back to my childhood memories and the excitement of going to the Sydney Royal Easter Show. When I think about the show my mind always takes me back to seeing the horse stables and the beautifully groomed horses with their sashes. As a young girl it was like something out of a fairytale.

My card was inspired by the lovely memories of my childhood. I used the horse from the Little Cuties stamp set in the Occasions Catalogue. I even groomed this sweet filly with some eyelashes using the fine-tip Project Life Journaling Pen. The scattered sequins are from the Sprinkles Embellishments, which also tie into the theme of being at the show.

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see what the amazing Design Team have in store for you this week.

Basket Bunch - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

17 March 2017

Welcome to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrive here from my lovely friend Kimberly Van Diepen from the US. At the bottom of the page please hit the next button to move around and see all the beautiful projects.

For this hop I focused my project around the adorable Basket Bunch suite including the coordinating Basket Builder Framelits Dies. There's so many possibilites with the suite on page 18 of the Occasions Catalogue and if you don't have it already, I suggest adding it to your wishlist!
I had lots of fun making this sweet card. For the top layer I masked the edges with washi tape and using a Sponge Dauber and the Pool Party Ink Pad I create an ombre background. The little eggs are so sweet and I think that the one with the love heart paired together with the sentiment is super cute!

Next on the hop is my lovely friend and talented papercrafter, Maike Ulbrich from Germany.

If you live in Australia I would love to be your Demonstrator. You can press on the supply list below to be taken to my online shop and purchase any of the items I have used today:

Global Design Project - Cool Treats

13 March 2017

#GDP078
This week over at the Global Design Project we have a sketch challenge. Sketch challenges are fun and I often go back and try past sketches if I can't find my creative mojo! This one is a great sketch and I'm sure I'll be using it again in the future.
Ice scream, you scream, LOUISE screams for ice cream!
I have been busily ice cream creating lately and for a girl who should avoid dairy...I've been putting myself through hell...hahaha. But honestly - how stinkin' cute is this card? If you haven't already, you need to get your hands on this Cool Treats stamp set with coordinating Frozen Treats Framelits Dies - it's the bomb!
I made this card for my bestfriend Mehgan who sadly lives on the otherside of world in Phoenix.. We both share the same addiction to ice cream and it's her birthday next month. (Don't fall over. I know I made her card early....but I need to get it in the post yet!) Below is a picture of Mehgan and I on the Allure of Seas for the 2014 Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation.
