Global Design Project - CASEing Krista Frattin

30 January 2017

#GDP072
I love it when we get to CASE team designers on the Global Design Project for 'CASE the Designer' challenge. This week we are getting our inspiration from Krista Frattin from Stampin' Dolce. I have always been so inspired by Krista's style and her ability to use gorgeous embellishments on her creations so skillfully. Krista has such a beautiful eye to detail and it is always displayed in her work.

The definition of CASE: Copy And Share Everything
Put simply, we get our inspiration from a particular project or creation. For this challenge we can use ANY element. You might be inspired by the colours, the stamp set or the card layout.
I took my inspiration this week from Krista's pretty card layout and also incorporated some lace behind the sentiment piece. She has sewn around the outside of her card and I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to include a stitched element to my card.
I have fallen in love with this card! Do you ever make something and think to yourself  "I'm so impressed with myself"?  (I do that every night when I feed my family and manage to get a meal on the table! Hahaha) Well, that is how I felt with this card. It's just so 'me'. Granted there's no pink on it, however I have always loved gingham, lace, flowers and the lovely cursive font in the sentiment is simply beautiful.

The gingham check paper and the flowers are from the beautiful new Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper and I hand cut the flowers from the paper with paper snips. The sentiment is in the new Suite Sentiments stamp set and both are from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see what the amazing Design Team have in store for you this week.

If you live in Australia I would love to be your Demonstrator. You can press on the supply list below to be taken to my online shop and purchase any of the items I have used today:

Welcome to the very first Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. I know you are going to love it! We have a mixture of amazingly talented Stampin' Up! papercrafters from around the world and every two weeks we will showcase our work with the intention for you to 'Be Inspired' and I have no doubt the team will do just that!

You may have just arrived here from my good friend Sarah Berry from the UK. If you are starting here please make sure you hit the next button at the bottom of this post and hop all the way around.

The theme for this hop is Sale-A-Bration and I have used both the lovely Inside The Lines Designer Series Paper and the Designer Tee stamp set to create a clean and simple floral card.

The paper really does all the work here! I coloured some of the flowers and leaves from the paper using Stampin' Write Markers and hand cut using paper snips and the 'squinting with tongue out ' technique - you know the one! lol  I am absolutely loving the Stitched Shapes Framelits as I feel they give a nice finish to the cardstock without having to add another layer.

Next up for you to 'Be Inspired' by is my beautiful, loving and brilliant friend Brian King from the US. He has the cutest Tasty Truck project that I know you will want to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) - I know I will be!

Q: What is Sale-A-Bration?

Global Design Project - Pineapple Baker's Box!

23 January 2017

As mentioned last week, the kids are still on school holidays and finding time in the craft room has been a struggle for the past few weeks. That being said, I had to find time for the Global Design Project theme this week and create something 3D or Off the Page.

I really wanted to create a little pineapple treat gift box for my good friend Denita. This week she gave me a cute little tea light candle gift with a super cute matching tag.  I needed to keep the pineapple theme going right?!
I used the Baker's Box Thinlits Die to create this adorable pineapple box - complete with mini pineapple lollies! The paper is from the Carried Away DSP in the Sale-A-Bration brochure and I hand cut the green pineapple crown and used a sponge dauber to give it some life. You could probably use the top of the large Pineapple stamp on page 124 of the Annual Catalogue, however, don't fall over here....I don't own it...shock horror I know! (Tell my husband would you? He's under the assumption I own everything in the catalogue! Hahahaha)

This is what Denita gave me this week. How totally adorable is it? #totes #adorbs is what it is! And it smells amazing too because the candle is pineapple scented! It's just the cutest.

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see what the amazing Design Team have in store for you this week.

Sealed with Love Topiary - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

20 January 2017

Hello and welcome to the first Artisan Design Team Blog Hop for 2017 and MY very first post as an Artisan Design Team Member - I'm stilling pinching myself!

What is the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team?
The Artisan Design Team is a group of creative and talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world selected by Stampin' Up! to blog about the projects they create.

A little bit about me: I love the colour pink, a good cup of tea and all things pretty (and of course all things Stampin' Up! - that's a given!) I have the most amazing, supportive and patient husband and together we have two children; Emily (13) and James (11).

You may have just arrive here from Kimberly Van Diepen, isn't her work just stunning?! At the bottom of the page please hit the next button to move around and see all the beautiful projects we have in store using the January focus product, Sealed with Love.

Because paper plants are the only ones I keep alive, this was the best way I could send my friend a plant without killing it! lol
I decided my card just had to be pink and used Rose Red cardstock for the base colour. I used a sponge dauber to stamp the heart and die cut it using the coordinating Love Note Framelits Dies. The square box was created using the small striped stamp and I lined them quite easily as the stamp set is photopolymer and the little heart leaves were cut with papersnipps after stamping using the small heart - cute huh!

Next on the hop is my new friend and talented papercrafter, Maike Ulbrich from Germany.

Global Design Project - Sketch Challenge

16 January 2017

It's school holidays here in Australia (until the 30th January) and it has also been a little crazy here this week in the Sharp house. All I really want to do it get in my craft room however with the beautiful weather we have been having and the kids bugging to get outdoors it's been tough to sit craft. BUT ALAS - my savours - my brother and sister-in-law have taken the kids camping for a couple of days and I managed to sneak in some craft time this afternoon - yay to me!

Here's a picture of Emily and James with my nephews out in the boat today...I hope they bring me back some fish for dinner tomorrow!

Over at the Global Design Project this week we have a sketch created by Teneale Williams (sadly Teneale is no longer a design team member, lucky for us she has still created our sketches - thanks Teneale, you're the best!)

I used the Watercolor Pencils on Watercolor Paper to create the multi-coloured flower and used the Stylish Stems to create the die cut flower and leaf. The sentiment of from the Sealed with Love stamp set.

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see the amazing cards the Design Team have created this week - and why not play along too?!

Global Design Project - Colour Challenge

09 January 2017

Baby shower notecards. This week over at the Global Design Project we have a colour challenge with a free choice - sometimes a free choice is harder than being given the colour you have to use because there's more options! There seems to be lots of babies being born lately or due to welcome the world and I thought this colour combo really lends itself to the baby theme.

I used the new Moon Baby stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue. It's so cute. I watercoloured with the new Watercolor Pencils. I've always loved watercolor pencils and I know you'll love them too if you have a play with them.

Stitched Shapes Framelits - these are currently on backorder, however Stampin' Up! are hoping to have these available soon.

Now to head over to the Global Design Project and see our talented Design Team.
