Mehgan's Wedding - A trip to Arizona

You may think this post isn't Stampin' Up! related, however, it is. It's all about Stampin' Up! actually. This company has given me the most amazing lifelong friendships and without it, I would never have met my Mehgan.

Back in 2013, I earned my very first Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation Incentive Trip. It was to Utah. The itinerary was to spend the initial three days at the North American Stampin' Up! Convention. (You can read about >here< if you would like to catch up.)

Daniel and I were staying at the Hilton, directly across the road from the Salt Lake City Convention Centre. On the first morning, I begged Daniel to come with me because I didn't really know anyone and with 6000 people attending, it was a little overwhelming. We entered the elevator and I introduced to myself to the 5 other eager crafting ladies heading down for the convention, of which, one of them was Mehgan. Mehgan said she knew who I was and was a regular visitor to my blog. (Insert mind explosion...boom! I thought the only person who possibly went to my blog back then was my Mum! Hahaha) I told her we must be friends for life. And we are.

If you are a regular follower of my blog, (firstly thank you) you may know a little about Mehgan and some of our adventures. This one though, is by far my favourite. I was her only Bridesmaid/Maid of Honour at her Wedding in Phoenix, Arizona back in April and was so incredibly proud to be standing next her. It was a very special day. 


George is one lucky guy!
Not only did Daniel and I get to visit Mehgan's home town of Phoenix for the first time, we got to meet George for the first time too! He is warm, funny and has a smile that radiates the room and when he sees Mehgan. It was such a beautiful wedding and a very special trip, it was hard to say goodbye. It was ugly tears - I have no photos of that! 

It really is a bit lot horrible that they live on the other side of the world. I dearly miss Mehgan, however, at the same time, I am so grateful and blessed she is in my life.

CASEing Steffi Helmschrott- Global Design Project #044

I love it when we get to CASE team designers on the Global Design Project for 'CASE the Designer' challenge. This week we are getting our inspiration from the amazingly talented and super sweet Steffi Helmschrott from Germany.

The definition of CASE: Copy And Share Everything
Put simply, we get our inspiration from a particular project or creation. For this challenge we can use ANY element. You might be inspired by the colours, the stamp set or the card layout. However you are inspired, why not play along this week? 

I am always incredibly inspired by Steffi's whimsical style and eye for detail with perfectly placed embellishments. I decided to keep with the butterfly theme, keeping with my own style of clean and layered, adding a small intricate banner and gold bow embellishment, which I'm sure Steffi will love. I will admit that I am quite happy with this result!

I really wanted to make a card for a very special someone in my life, who has been a 'guiding light', even when I haven't always wanted to hear what they had to say! I'm sure we all have true friends like that, don't we?!

The sentiment is just perfect for this card and it's part of the Jar of Love stamp set. The lighthouse is from the stamp set From Land to Sea and I coloured it using with Real Red and So Saffron Markers.

Pop of Pink - Global Design Project #043

Another week rolls by which means we have another Global Design Project challenge. Because I am so incredibly lucky enough to be a design team member, I get to know in advance what the challenges are. However, don't let this fool you into thinking I have any idea what I am going to do! 

I was rattling my brain a little this week thinking of what I do for our 'Party' theme and it just so happens that I we have had a lovely young girl staying with us for a few days, Emily Millan, who is from Canada. Instead of celebrating Canada Day with red and white, we celebrated 'Emily being at Louise's house Day' with pink and white!

Emily is the daughter of my beautiful Canadian fellow Stampin' sister, Cynthia Millan.  These pictures were taken at the park next to where we live. Emily was a ray of sunshine in the Sharp house this week and we hope she comes to visit us again soon!

Something fun....
Yesterday I picked up the gorgeous Emily Millan from Sydney. She is the daughter of Cynthia Millan from Canada. Emily is currently in Australia doing NET Missionary work and is on a short break. I love how Stampin' Up! has commented me with people from all over the world and I adore Cynthia and now I'm even more in love with her beautiful daughter! She is simply the best fun.

I can't take all the credit for this card because as Emily woke this morning I really wanted her to create something with me - so this is really her card! Great job Em. 

This is Daniel and I with Cynthia and Scott Millan enjoying gelato in France on the Mediterranean Cruise last month.

Now we are about to head off for some ice cream this afternoon. Emily LOVES ice cream - oh a girl after my own heart!
