InKing Royalty's Color Me Happy Blog Hop

21 June 2017

I am so EXCITED to be a guest on the InKing Royalty's June 2017 Blog Hop today! The InKing Royalty Team is led by none other than my very talented and special friend, Brian King.

Brian is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator from Atlanta, Georgia USA and we met back in 2013 at the Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. (Truth be told he just couldn't go on stamping unless we were friends and I agreed! Hahaha)

You may have just arrived here from the wonderful Lisa Pretto - love her! After you read my post, please hop over to the next person on the list at the bottom of this post.

The theme for the hop is 'Color Me Happy' and we are getting our inspiration from by Stampin' Up!'s 2017-2019 In Colors which are Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide.

I decided to use my favourite three - Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. The new 2017-2019 In-Colors are bold and bright, however I wanted to show how they can still be soft and feminine too.

The rose is from the new Graceful Garden stamp set on page 57 and the sentiment if from the new Lovely Inside & Out stamp set on page 157. Both the rose and the sentiment have been stamped in VersaMark and embossed with White Embossing Power. I watercoloured the rose with Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. The base of the card and the piece through the middle are Powder Pink Cardstock.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my project. Now please hop to the next stop on the blog hop, Jackie Beers from Blue Linen Stamping. The full list of inspiring stampers is below and you won't want to miss any - they are all amazing, so please hop through them all!

Global Design Project - CASE the Designer

19 June 2017

#GDP092
This week at the Global Design Project we are getting our inspiration from one of our talented Design Team Members, Steffi Helmschrott from Germany. I love Steffi's clean, elegant style and her watercoloring always blows my mind!

The definition of CASE: Copy And Share Everything or as the GDP call it Copy and Selectively Edit!  Put simply, we get our inspiration from a particular project or creation. For this challenge we can use ANY element. You might be inspired by the colours, the stamp set or the card layout.
I took my inspiration from Steffi's card layout and watercolouring and decided to break open my new This Little Piggy stamp set - don't you just love the name?!

To create my watercoloured piggy I used a Basic Grey and Powder Pink Stampin' Write Marker to draw the the outline of the pig and the wings and stamped it onto Watercolor Paper. I then used my Aqua Painter to colour the pig and wings. The clouds are stamped in Soft Sky.

I made this card for my wonderful friend Linda Heller. This is Linda and I pigging out sharing a croissant and coffee in in Marseilles, France last year...this is how we roll...we meet in France for our coffee dates! Hahaha. (Actually it was for the Stampin' Up! incentive trip. Sadly I didn't earn the Thailand incentive trip and won't be catching up with all my global friends next month - I'm sure they will do a good job of keeping me updated and surely the trip won't be same without me?? ;) *wink, wink* Oh and have a croissant and coffee for me Linda!)

Now head over to the Global Design Project and see what the amazing Design Team have in store for you this week.

INKspired Blog Hop - Strawberry Jam

20 September 2015

INKspired Blog Hop & Sentimental Sunday

Welcome to our 1st Birthday INKspired Blog Hop. It's hard to belive we have been 'hopping' for 12 months already! You may have just arrived from my friend Lisa.

This week, we not only have a sketch challenge from Teneale, but also to have to theme our projects around Celebration / Birthday / Party.

My gift hamper has been made for a celebration of sorts! My bestfriend Mehgan, from Arizona, has recently moved into a new home and wanted to create a sweet (pardon the pun) house-warming gift.

I love the strawberries from the Market Fresh stamp set and knew I wanted to create something special for Mehgan's new home. I know she's going to love it!

I just wish I was there celebrating with her with some freshly made pikelets. (To which, Americans have no idea what I am talking about regarding these amazing tasty treats! I know...like what? They are totally missing out in my opinion!)

And yes, I called it Strawberry JAM, not JELLY!

I used Stazon Ink on Shimmer Paper and coloured the strawberries by pushing ink into the lid of Real Red ink pad and picking up the ink with an Aqua Painter, carefully colouring staring from where I want the darkest amount of colour and blending it out.

Next on the hop is my beautiful, amazing, talented, friend, team member and cousin....yes she is ALL those things and more...Marlene

WE {HEART} COMMENTS!

Just Add Glimmer

18 September 2015

Just Add Glimmer!! Ok, twist my arm....if I have to! Haha. I do love a bit of sparkle and this card was inspired by the table setting I created a couple of weeks ago.

If you haven't noticed, I am IN LOVE with just about everything from the new Holiday Catalogue!
I was stressing about making Christmas creations so early, not really wanting to even think that Christmas is looming, but now I'm excited! I do love Christmas.

I used the new Peaceful Wreath stamp set, which coordinates with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits, isn't it just gorgeous?! The sentiment is from the Jingle All the Way stamp set and I think the curvy font is beautiful and compliments this card perfectly.

Make sure to head over and see the amazing Design Team over at Just Add Ink this week.

INKspired Blog Hop - Embellished Ornaments

06 September 2015

INKspired Blog Hop

Welcome to our 24th INKspired Blog Hop. You have just arrived here from my beautiful bestfriend Kabrina.

With the launch of the NEW amazing Holiday Catalogue this week (view in my side bar) I couldn't go past creating something with one of new stamp sets, Embellished Ornaments.

Teneale's sketch this week leaves a lot of white space and I really like it as it promotes my favourite style...clean and classy!

This stamp set is divine and I was inspired by the watercoloured one on page 15, however wanted to stick with a more traditional Christmas colour with Real Red.

I stamped the image in Real Red onto Watercolor Paper and went over with a Blender Pen and highlighted the outsides with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker.

Now moving on to my super talented and super sweet team member Marlene.

INKspired Blog Hop - Made With Love Little Dear

23 August 2015

INKspired Blog Hop & Sentimental Sunday

Warning: CUTEST CARD IN HISTORY. Ok, I don't want to toot my own horn....BUT this is would have to be up there for the KEW-YOUUU-TEEST card I have EVER made!

Welcome to our 23rd INKspired Blog Hop. You may have just arrive here from my gorgeous friend Lissa. If you have just arrived here, please be sure to jump all the way around to see all the amazing creations.

Teneale's sketch this week was a little beauty and I knew exactly what I wanted to create, which was a pleasant feeling, as I usually sit thinking for hours and have every stamp set I own out on the table!

Are you ready to say "Nawwww"?!

A wee Little Deer for a wee Little Dear.
I told you it was too cute for words! I made this card for to congratulate the safe arrival of a sweet baby girl into the lives of two super special people, Clare and Brendan.

I used Watercolor Paper and an Aqua Painter to give the background a watercolor mark using the Pink Pirouette Ink Pad and pressing ink into the lid. I also used the Aqua Painter to colour the wee little deer from the Made With Love stamp set.

Next on the hop is my beautiful and talented friend Marlene.

Sentimental Sunday is the day of the week I like to recognise someone special in my life. Today I would like to share with you 'Our' Clare. When our children were very young Clare was our Nanny. Not only was Clare our Nanny, Clare was my friend. She helped me with the two most important people in my life, my two beautiful children. And I could not have picked a better, more loving and caring person if I tried. Clare was God-send, literally. I am sure God sent her to me to help me through some of the toughest days and moments in my life at the time. More importantly, both our children adored her and she adored them. I will forever be grateful for having Clare in our lives and I know she will make the best Mum ever.

Thanks for hopping by,
