Rustic Wondrous Wreath

 Merry Monday #133
Rustic Christmas
Many of you know I love Christmas and generally I'm more of a traditional girl, rich greens and bright reds, however this year, (if you haven't noticed!) I'm really loving the more natural, rustic look, with a touch of gold and a hit of sparkle.

So why make a card and not play along to a challenge right?! Over at  Merry Monday the challenge is to create a Christmas card using creams, tans and browns.

Here's my creation:

I cut some of the dark brown leaves out and glued just the corner, applied Crystal Effects and raised them a little after they dried. In 'real life' it gives the card a little more dimension.

I coloured the pearls with the dark brown Blendabilities Alcohol Marker. Also, the little heart in swings, adding just a little bit more 'cuteness' - well that's what I'm calling it!

Inkspired Blog Hop - Bright & Beautiful

02 November 2014

INKspired Artists Blog Hop #4

You may have just 'hopped' here from Lisa, if you have, welcome to our fourth blog hop!
I'm having so much fun with these blog hops, be sure to hop all the way around and see all the awesome creations.

This weeks our layout had me a little stumped at first and then decided to go for a vintage feel using the Bright ad Beautiful Stars set from the Holiday Catalogue.

I was at a Stampin' friends house recently and she used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with gold embossing, it looked stunning and I very rarely use this stamp set. I was so inspired that I had to use it on my card this week, thanks Denita

I used the Gold Bakers Twine and pulled out just the gold thread and combined it with the Linen Thread to coordinate with the gold embossing.

Next stop is my friend Marlene with her take on this weeks sketch.

It's hard to believe that another Christmas is just around the corner, but I just LOVE Christmas. I love everything about it...ok except maybe battling the over crowed shops, but even that can be exciting with the buzz in the air and watching children line up to see Santa. So with that, you'll probably see more Christmas creations on my blog than normal over the next two months!

Just Add Ink - Hello There

Just Add Ink 237
Clear Block Stamping
Ok, I admit it. I've been living under a rock!
When this Just Add Ink challenge came around I thought to myself...
"Does clear block stamping just mean using a stamp with a clear block?"

On further investigation 'Clear Block Stamping' is a technique where you literally use the clear block to stamp. Please tell me there's someone else out there that didn't know this?!

After many (insert about a hundred) failed attempts at this card and a huge explosion of mess in my craftroom, I finally came up with something that I didn't think was too bad.

And don't fall over...I put it on an angle! I know, stepping way out of comfort zone!

So, in hope that others may not know about Clear Block Stamping, I have created a quick tutorial about how I achieved the effect on my card. Enjoy!

Make sure you check out all the other talented Design Team Members and how they have used the Clear Block Stamping Technique.

Below is a list of items I have used on my card and if you click on the product it will take you to my shop where you can purchase any of these items.

INKspired Blog Hop - Endless Wishes

19 October 2014

INKspired Artists Blog Hop #3

You may just 'hopped' here from my friend Kabrina. If this is your first stop, a huge welcome to our third team blog hop.

I am having loads of fun with these blog hops and it always amazes me how everyone creates something different from the same sketch! Be sure to hit the 'next' button at the bottom and hop all the way around.

I'm sure we will all offer some inspiration with this weeks sketch:

I wanted to stick with something simple without my usual umpteen layers look! Even though I love layers, I want to create some Christmas cards this year that are cost effective, elegant and simple. I have used the Endless Wishes stamp set to create what I think has all of those elements.

I used the Heat and Stick Powder and Gold Glitter to create the gorgeous glittery slow flake and without being biased, I love how it turned out!

Next stop is the ever so lovely and talented Marlene.
